| A devoted core of people have been
meeting at Bagheera Yoga Studio on Thursday nights at 7pm for Zen
Meditation since late January 2004.

Usually we have 6-10 people in attendance. The evening
practice period concludes at approximately 8:30pm. Zazen (sitting
meditation), Kinhin (walking meditation), traditional chants and
discussion are used in this evening practice.
An orientation is recommended for people new to Zen meditation. The orientation takes about 30 minutes and can be scheduled with Bobbi Ponce-Barger.
Since the summer of 2000 Bobbi has found and cultivated a deep connection to Soto Buddhism as taught by Shogaku Shunryu Suzuki Roshi (the Founder of the San Francisco Zen Center) and his students. It has been a natural and subtle progression to move from embracing the code of conduct of Yoga’s Yamas and Niyamas to the deeper precepts of Buddhism.
On August 16th, 2005 Bobbi received the precepts from Dairyu Michael Wenger in the traditional Jukai ceremony (Zen Buddhist lay ordination) at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center. Bobbi has continued to study with Dairyu and is preparing to ordain as a priest .
In 2005 Dairyu offered the name “All Beings Abode” for our Washington DC based Zendo space and Sangha (our meditation group).
"All Beings Abode Sangha" meets regularly in the Bagheera Yoga Studio in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington DC.
Monday mornings from 6:30 - 7:10 a.m.
Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 8:20 p.m.
Friday mornings from 6:30 - 7:10 a.m.
The map below shows a bird's eye view (it's right across the street from the National Zoo) - please email us for more detailed directions or to set up an orientation.

All Beings Sangha is a part of the Branching Streams network of Dharma centers in the tradition of Suzuki Roshi. The Branching Streams network exists to explore our interconnectedness, to nourish each other's practice, and to find new ways to benefit each other.
